Crewmember of the month:

Hello! My name is Sanne and I’m Salesforce Consultant at 2ManyDigits. In a previous life, I studied neuroscience. However, coding experiments and creating programs for data-analysis got me more excited than the actual brains themselves, so I figured it might be time to set a new course. I got myself a job in IT and that’s were Salesforce and I met. It was love at first sight.

Why did you join 2ManyDigits?

Why wouldn’t I?! Ambition? Check. Working hard and smart? Check! Party? Definitely!

What does a typical day look like?

First, I try to be awake when I get out of bed. Not being a morning-person, this can be a challenging endeavor. However, it’s nothing a fairly cold shower can’t fix. When the workday is over, I like to take a walk in the woods.

What’s your fuel?

Well, literally speaking that would be food. For me however, that’s also the case in the figurative sense. I love food, cooking and baking. On Saturdays I go the market in the quaint town of Zutphen to get the best products and produce to create some lavishly luscious meals.

How do you relax?

They say it’s ‘mind over matter’. However, the best way for my mind to de-stress is through physical movement. Walking and hiking, yoga or even some light stretching. It all works for me.

So what’s your guilty pleasure?

Do I have to feel guilty in order to enjoy something that society may deem ridiculous? Well, joke’s on you, since I know no shame. I like objectively bad ‘90s and 00’s music. I watch gaming videos on YouTube. Don’t even get me started on the reality shows where brides pick their wedding dress. Do I want to get married? No, but I definitely know what type of dress I would hypothetically wear walking down the aisle.

Tell us about your current Spotify playlist

I am into a lot of different musical genres. My ‘Discover Weekly’ playlist is an interesting surprise to listen to. It may start with some Lo-Fi beats, followed by Dreamcore, Trash metal and ending with some 80’s Yugoslavian post-punk. There’s always a Vengaboys song somewhere in the list.

Which book did you recently read that you can recommend?

That would be: ‘The Future of Humanity’ by Michio Kaku. Can humans one day live on Mars? Is it possible to upload you mind to a computer, and thus become immortal? Questions that may sound pretty science fiction-ish, but does that make them impossible to answer? Kaku explains in his book what steps science has taken, and still has to take in order to achieve our life among the stars. Worth a read if you ask me!

Any final thoughts?

Why do I love Salesforce, you ask? Having a non-technical background, Salesforce is an awesome platform to get started, but it never ceases to be challenging. Like many things in life, it’s easy to learn, but hard to master. Don’t even get me started on the great solutions Salesforce can offer, be it for problems great or small (and yes, complex problems actually can have fairly simple solutions sometimes).
