Dynamic Forms on standard objects
Dynamic Forms for standard objects have been on the roadmap for a while and will be available for Accounts, Contacts, Person Accounts, and Opportunities from Winter ‘23. Next to custom objects, it is amazing that dynamic forms also will be enabled!
3
Permission Sets enhancements
There were too many great Permission Set enhancements to choose from, so we’re going to dive into all of them!
Set Field-Level Security for a Field on Permission Sets Instead of Profiles During Field Creation (Beta)
Proving that Permission Sets are the way forward and the best practice option, Salesforce will now allow you to assign field access based on Permission Sets instead of Profiles. This feature will need to be enabled in User Management Settings > Field-Level Security for Permission Sets During Field Creation (Beta).
Manage Your Permission Assignments With the User Access and Permissions Assistant
Permissions Helper has been renamed to User Access and Permissions Assistant. This app was created by Salesforce and is available on the AppExchange. The app is designed to help you analyze and report on permission assignments, as well as providing an easy wizard to manage permissions.

Enable Permission Set Expiration and Enhanced UI (Release Update)
You can assign an expiration date to a Permission Set or Permission Set Group. When a Permission Set or Permission Set Group passes the expiration date, a User can lose access to the functionality granted in the Permission Set or Permission Set Group. Does any of this sound familiar? That’s because the update was available in Summer ‘22 but will be enforced in Winter ‘23.
5
Clone Lightning Apps (Beta)
You can now easily clone your favorite apps to create new apps in the Lightning App Builder – a great time saving feature for Admins!
7
Flow and Automation Updates
Flow is the automation feature of the future and this release is full of juicy updates for you. Normally our release highlights are new and improved features or functionality, but we would be remiss if we didn’t point out something that has gone… From the Winter ‘23 release, you will no longer see the option to create a new Workflow!
Cut and Paste Flow Elements
Instead of using Copy + Paste to move and reorganize elements in Flow, you can now use Cut + Paste. The benefit? No need to delete the element you’ve copied or change the API name of the new pasted element. To cut an element, click the element and select Cut Element (1).To paste the element that you cut, hover over where you want to paste, and then click (2).

Use Formula Builder in Flow Resources and Collection Filter Elements
This change means that you can use the enhanced formula builder in Flow, checking formula syntax and catching errors as you work.
Use ISCLONE in Record-Triggered Flow Formulas
Record-triggered flows for new and updated records now support the ISCLONE formula function – this means you can now re-create any Workflow Rules or Process Builder processes that use ISCLONE in Flow.
Use Record-Triggered Flows to Update Related Records
Quite self-explanatory, you can now choose to update records related to the record that triggers your flow. You can choose to update either some or all related records.

Specify Time Offsets in Months for Scheduled Paths
For each scheduled path on record-triggered flows, you can now choose an Offset Duration of “Months”. Previously your options were “Days”, “Hours” or “Minutes”.
2
Do More With Dynamic Related List Filters
To stay with the “dynamic” theme, there is a small but significant update to Dynamic Related List filters. You can now filter a Dynamic Related List by multiple filter values – previously, you could only filter by one value.
4
Forecasting!
As per the last few releases, forecasting has been getting a lot of love, and this theme continues in Winter ‘23. There are multiple enhancements, so do check out the full release notes if you use this feature.
Choose Custom Opportunity Fields to Include or Exclude From Your Forecasts
You can now filter your forecasts by custom Opportunity Number, Currency, or Picklist fields for a more accurate forecast! Previously, you were only able to filter your forecast using Record Type, standard Number, standard Currency, and standard Picklist fields.

Work Smoothly With Improved Usability of Salesforce Desktop Site Forecasts
In Winter ‘23, Salesforce significantly improved the visualization of forecasts. In particular, the ability to view Quota Attainment % as a progress bar is amazing. Users can select “Show Changes in Last 7 Days” and will now see pertinent information in a single pop-up when they hover.

6
Create Custom Address Fields
A custom address field that functions in the same fashion as the standard address field has been a much needed feature for years! This great new feature was released in Beta in Summer ‘22 and is Generally Available in Winter ‘23.

8
Reports and Dashboards
Among many updates for Reports and Dashboards, there are two that will be highlighted.
Filter Custom Report Types by Salesforce Fields (Beta)
In a previous release we were granted the ability to filter report types based on Salesforce objects. The Winter ‘23 release takes this a step further and we are now able to find custom report types that contain a specific standard or custom field. This functionality is currently in Beta.
Review a Custom Report Type’s Structure During Report Creation
This enhancement will enable you to see the structure of custom report types, showing the relationships between joined objects. In addition, the tooltip (the blue box) will explain the join type e.g. Record A may or may not have related B records.

9
To Do List within tasks
The “To Do List” will be available for organizations using Sales Engagement in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions. The “To Do List” can be added to the Utility Bar and displays tasks assigned to them in a single, easy-to-use view.
