Hello, my name is Edwin ten Kate, Salesforce DevOps Engineer at 2ManyDigits.
For the last 16 years I’ve had many different roles and responsibilities in warehouses. But in 2021 I decided that I wanted to do something different, that it was time for a career switch.
I have always been intrigued by IT. In my past work I have worked with many programs and I always had my opinions of what was usefull and what was not and which processes could be automated to make things easier. I like to come up with solutions and build them.
In my search I found TechGrounds, an organization that offers different IT- courses including Salesforce. From the beginning I was excited about the possibilities that the Salesforce Platform offered. During the course I learned the fundamentals of Salesforce and how to work in teams in developing solutions. Techgrounds not only focus on the hard skills but also on the soft skills. With the tools they supplied I earned my first Salesforce Certificates
Happy to join 2ManyDigits where I can put my knowledge into practice.
Why did you join 2ManyDigits?
I like the culture at 2ManyDigits. Open-minded, relax and having fun together while building the best solutions for the customer. And I can learn a lot at 2ManyDigits.
What does a typical day look like?
The day starts with a (short) walk with my dog. When I am back I get myself a coffee and open up my laptop. Finish some new emails, attend a stand up and work on some user stories alternating with meetings and self study. After work it is time for another (long) walk with the dog to clear my mind. In the evening relaxing with a good movie.
What’s your fuel?
I like my coffee in the morning and a good breakfast to start the day.
How do you relax?
Watching a good movie, taking a ride on my motorcycle, doing some work in the garden, it depends on the weather.
So what’s your guilty pleasure?
Pancakes. For breakfast or lunch or diner or desert.
Tell us about your current Spotify playlist
I like all kinds of music but at the moment it is Pop and 90’s Dance.
Which book did you recently read that you can recommend?
I am not really a reader. I prefer the movie. And some good ingredients for a good movie are: Fast cars, Fast Bikes, lot of action and comedy. E.a Fast and Furious (I know, action is a little bit over the top. But I Like it), Transformers, Bad Boys and a golden oldie: Smokey and the Bandit.
Any final thoughts?
Hope to learn a lot and have some fun while building beautiful Salesforce solutions.
